so anyways, today was my last day at housekeeping
it was absolutely lovely waking up at 1030 in the morning
as compared to 5am or 6am.
BUT its that time of the month
and i ended up leaving work at 4plus
it sucked.
oh well.

at least i got a longer rest
no more work till monday at 3pm
=)
and i just dragged my ass down to see a doctor to get my MC
and had a nice long chitty chat with mummy
gossip gossip.

and i just finished my first ejournal reflection thingy for SIP
and i realized that SIP hasnt been as bad as i thought it would be
like i kept telling myself- OPEN MIND, HAVE AN OPEN MIND!
haha
yeah, that has all worked.
though i havent enjoyed the (sometimes) eating alone or the changing of bedsheets with blood on it
or being bored or feeling like a moron when you dont know how to do something so you just sit and watch

but other than that,
it has been pretty okay
and people are friendly.
so, thats good enough for me.

however, people are calling me "hairspray girl"
and the aunties are fascinated over my hair as compared to their (lack of) hair.
and blegh!

however, the managers i know are hinting at me

well today was semi fabulous
work ended quite fast.
basically i did the usual stuff
but ive made more friends
and i feel much more comfortable at work- which is good of course
i got a bit sneezy cos of the dust though

so after work, i hung around till about 430 when i met tanya at conrad
so we gossipped
and ate
and gossipped
and ate somemore
=)
and id say we had a good time
it was like a reunion almost

we also headed to fullerton to say hi to everyone
(we just cant stay away can we? heh)
then i headed home for pizza
yes, 2 days of pasta and two days of pizza in one week
fab.

well, im looking for this book: "love and other near death experiences"
i read the back of the book 'cause i saw it in a guests' room
and it sounds interesting
so yeah, shall search

i also want some sleep
im pretty much exhausted
but tmrw's my last day of housekeeping
so thats a mini celebration

so i suppose im getting the hang of this whole SIP thing.
i managed to do all my runner jobs
ON MY OWN today
without getting lost
and with a rather large amount of confidence as well
waltzing into the cold kitchen, pastry kitchen (With the TONS of chocolate all over) and etc.
it was pretty fun
but once everything was done, i was rather bored.
and there wasnt anyone to slack with

but anyway,
HOUSEKEEPING tmrw and ive tried on my uniform
as i said to ali-
i look like a marshmellow in hawaiian pants.
(thats NOT a gd thing, incase you didnt realize)
yikes.

so, housekeeping ( i nearly typed "hawaiian") madness starts tmrw
and lasts till saturday
but i have tons of Mornings!

OH OH and i walked miles with a tray in hand and a singapore sling balancing on the tray
and i didnt drop it

i made it to the guest with the glass intact and served it with the greatest smile

so basically we were running around doing errands and stuff

we ended up staying at work 20 mins after work ended.

Description of the herb melissa
Lemon Balm is a lemon scented perennial. Oval toothed leaves and minor yellow flowers are produced in auxiliary clusters in summer.

Parts used
The dried leaves, as well as the essential oil are used.

Properties
It is an aromatic herb with cooling and sedative properties, lowering fever, improving digestion, relaxing spasms and improving peripheral blood vessels. It helps with hyperthyroidism, while having anti-viral, anti-biotic and insect-repellent effects.

It contains rosmarinic acid, phenolic acids, triterpenes, monoterpene glycosides, flavonoids and the essential oil contains citronellal, citral, germacrene and caryophyllene.

Therapeutic uses
Internal use
Lemon Balm is used internally to treat nervous disorders, indigestion and/or excitability developing from nervous disorder, hyperthyroidism, and depression, anxiety, palpitations and tension headaches.
It is often used for sleeplessness and also for nervous stomach disorders in both children and adults.
Fresh lemon balm leaves are used to give a lemon flavor to soups, salads, sauces, herb vinegars, game and fish. It is also an ingredient of Benedictine and Chartreuse liquors.
The dried leaves can be added to potpourris, as well as herbal cushions or sachets to perfume drawers or cupboards.
External use
Applied externally, it is useful to treat herpes simplex (cold sores), sores and insect bites, and helps to give some relief from gout.
Aromatherapy and essential oil use
Melissa essential oil is useful to treat depression, easing nervous tension and restoring calmness.
With excellent antiviral properties, it is great to treat herpes simplex (fever blisters) and herpes zoster (shingles), while also helping to fight nausea and upset stomachs.
It has anti-depressant, anti-spasmodic, bactericidal, cordial, diaphoretic, emmenagogue, febrifuge, nervine, sedative, stomachic, sudorific and tonic properties.

so here's my update about attachment so far.

well, with all the dread i filled my head with,

all the facts and all
it was boredom at it's best

2nd day, we had to sell mooncakes and i was posted to SCIENCE PARK

so damn far away

it was quite busy and well, i met a few new people-
which was good.
but i tried the mooncakes and i dont know whats the big deal about them-
they dont taste that good
haha

but after work, i was saved by ali and kenny rogers
much much needed

yummy corn muffins.

today, work was a little more productive
but im still feeling so dreadful about 5 more days of work-
before my off day
but hey! i'll be okay! =)

there were tons of documentaries about the whole terrorism attack thing
basically following the events that happened on the first plane
then the 2nd plane-
involving the terrorists, victims on the plane and in the tower as well
i watched it quietly, no comments
slightly horrified yet upset at the same time
yes, its been years
but still, its unimaginable.
the destruction, the lives lost- just like that.

i know everyone ALWAYS says- live each day like it's your last
i want to do that
but im not sure how

The Missing Brick.

Once, when I and my wife were traveling, I received a fax from my secretary.

"There’s one glass brick missing for the work on the kitchen renovation" she said. "Im sending you the original plan as well as the plan the builder has come up with to compensate for it".

On the one hand, there was the design my wife had made: harmonious lines of bricks with an opening for ventilation. On the other, there was the plan drawn up to resolve the problem of the missing brick: a real jigsaw puzzle in which the glass squares were arranged in a higgledy-piggledy fashion that defied aesthetics.

"Just buy another brick" wrote my wife.

And so they did, and thus stuck to the original design.

That afternoon, I thought for a long time about what had happened, how often, for the lack of one brick, we completely distort the original plan of our lives.

well, so high school musical 2 premiered on disney channel today at 7.30pm
and i can just say that the first was much better and more entertaining
or perhaps, all that hype that was created-
all those expectations,
its more difficult to meet yeah?
we were practically bored throughout the show
and were cracking jokes to make it more entertaining.
seeing those pictures of vanessa anne hudgens,
DIDNT HELP
=)
oh well
there's always RENT
=)
hehe.

today was basically a stay-at-home sunday!
it was a ball.
and so was yesterday.
especially the SURPRISE fireworks

when we used to sneak down to try and have lunch together at powerpoint
when we used to hang out during split shift breaks

when we had to do nonsense paper work
when the boys always changed but the girls stayed the same
